Scenes from Cannes

I’m having a tough time getting back into the swing of things after traveling most of October; some for pleasure but some to take care of urgent family matters of a not so pleasant nature. Here, I’ll focus on the pleasure part and share with you some scenes from our stay in Cannes on the French Riviera where, for three days, the legendary and historic Intercontinental Carlton Cannes was our refuge and we slumbered along with Hollywood Stars past and present. It’s here that Alfred Hitchcock filmed many scenes of the cult classic “To Catch a Thief” starring Grace Kelly and Cary Grant. To honor Grace Kelly’s beauty and talent, her son Prince Albert II of Monaco officially baptized The Grace Kelly suite.

Overlooking the serene bay of Cannes.

Stroll along La Croisette.

Walk through Old Cannes and climb up to Place de la Castre.

Views of the Old Harbour.

This particular resident of the Old Harbour caught my eye later that evening.

For lunch, a Caesar salad at Foquet’s.

End a perfect afternoon with Jean-Luc Pele’ famous macaroons.

Beautiful, Priscilla. Your images are bringing me back to my September visit. Cannes is a beautiful place. So glad you had that time away to offset the not-as-pleasant parts of your October. Have a wonderful weekend. :-)

Such beautiful photographs. Cannes is on my TO VISIT list. I’m sorry to hear that you have had to attend to some difficult family matters. I have been doing a lot of that lately, and I know how draining it can be. I hope you are having a wonderful weekend full of good eating and rejuvenation!

What an amazing set of photos. It makes me green with envy, I would love to have been there! I’ve been to Cannes once a long time ago, and have no plans to return soon, but I would love to go back.

When I visited the Riviera last Fall…I certainly did not linger in as much style as you did Priscilla ;o) We were unfortunately to pre-occupied to get to other destinations. I’m thrilled you shared photos of places I missed out on. Glad you had a pleasurable trip.

    Ciao for now,
    Claudia

P.S. Hopefully, with time your Mom can get used to her new arrangements and that your mind can grow more at ease with time ;) I really do know how you feel…we went through three moves with my grandma.
