The Overcrowded Garden

For Earth Day, I’m sharing some of my images from a recent visit to the Overcrowded Rare Fruit Garden of Thom Hendricks in Huntington Beach. Arranged through Slow Food OC, Thom captivated our group of  Slow Foodies with his vast knowledge of plants and rare fruits, his wry humor, his down-to-earth descriptions of his technique of grafting up to 6 different varieties of a species on one tree, and a live grafting demonstration.

At one point, I used to have an over crowded garden where I used to find such joy and a little frustration all at the same time. I so miss it right now.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful day and images Priscilla.

Have a great weekend and Happy Easter as well,
    Claudia

Gorgeous pictures! I live in Phoenix, where gardens are hard to make happen in the dusty, dry and hot climate. I am very envious of this one! Happy Easter…and belated Earth Day :) Wishing you a fantastic week!
