One in five children in this country struggles with hunger, including more than 2,487,750 children in California. The No Kid Hungry campaign is ending childhood hunger in this nation by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day, by connecting them to nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals and by teaching families how to cook healthy, affordable meals at home.

Since summer 2011, No Kid Hungry and their partners have connected kids struggling with hunger with more than 107 million additional meals. That’s more meals than the total populations of California, New York, Texas, and Florida…combined!

In 2015, Taste of the Nation Laguna Beach raised over $200,000, which helped connect children in need with up to 2 million meals. One hundred percent of ticket proceeds from Taste of the Nation benefit No Kid Hungry thanks to generous support from national sponsors Citi and Sysco®. Taste of the Nation Laguna Beach for No Kid Hungry is also supported by national sponsors Food Network, and OpenTable. Local sponsors include Montage Laguna Beach, and S.Pellegrino Natural Sparkling Water. Local beneficiaries include Second Harvest Orange County Food Bank, and Community Action Partnership of OC.

No child should go hungry in America, but 1 in 5 kids will face hunger this year. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. When we all work together, we can make sure kids get the healthy food they need. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength.
