100% Beeswax Candles

Two days before Christmas and hopefully there’s a check mark next to all the names on your gift list and the only gauntlet left to run is the parking lot at the grocery store. If you still have a few hostess gifts or stocking stuffers to buy, my hot tip of the season is to avoid the mall and big box stores, find the nearest Whole Foods Market and while you’re shopping for those perishable items, you can also select from some wonderful handmade, fair trade products made from the purest ingredients on earth.

On my advance shopping trip (you can count on at least two trips to the market), I felt as if I had discovered Pandora’s box: there were toxic-free toys for the kiddos, bath and body gift packs for sis, clean-burning beeswax candles and handmade ornaments for the perfect hostess or workplace gifts, and organic cotton hoodies for myself and the teens on my list. And, by purchasing from companies  such as Global Girlfriend you’re also helping women in need help themselves and their communities and Threads for Thought donates a portion of their proceeds to the IRC and NRDC to aid refugees and defend the environment, SCORE!

Whole Foods believes that what you put on your body is as important as what you put in it.  Their Whole Body premium personal care items meet the strictest standards for quality, sourcing, environmental impact, results and safety. Vendor partners are encouraged to use plant-based and naturally-derived ingredients, pure essential oil fragrances, gentle preservatives and non-petroleum ingredients. They’ve also raised the bar further when they recently announced that to be sold in its stores all personal care products making “organic” claims must be third-party certified to the USDA NOP standard, currently personal care products are not USDA regulated so some manufacturers  And, Whole Foods does not allow any animal testing for any of their personal care products, ever.

Isn’t Whole Foods just wonderful? We live near the flagship store in Austin, and i have found so many great gifts in their home and body section. Those candles look so beautiful, and I may have to swing by this afternoon to pick some up! I hope you have a great afternoon. Stay warm and safe!

This is a great article, I did not know all of the background for these treasures. I do love Whole Foods and I am pretty impressed with the HB location thus far 🙂
