With three successful restaurants in New York City, South Coast Plaza is thrilled to welcome Casa Barilla to their growing globally influenced restaurant roster. Ideally located on the lower level of the Sears wing, Casa Barilla offers a family friendly dining experience with an appealing array of Italian fare to please all palates.

Lasagna | 600 cal.

If the name sounds familiar – it is, indeed, the same Barilla as the pasta we know and love. Established in 1877, Barilla is an Italian family-owned food company and a world leader in the pasta market. With 140 years of experience in the food industry, Barilla has for many generations provided good food that is good for people and good for the planet. All Barilla restaurants offer wholesome Italian cuisine for lunch and dinner, with a wide variety of pasta, pizza, panini, and salads — all made to order with fresh ingredients, and served directly to you. A variety of Italian wines and imported and domestic beers will soon be available for your enjoyment as well.

Barilla, a company passionate about pasta, offers more than a menu, but a quintessentially authentic Italian experience that complements a healthy lifestyle. Casa Barilla serves a dozen different pastas daily, including classic Italian recipes such as Spaghetti al Pomodoro, Lasagna and healthy options such as Penne Estive, with organic pasta and cherry tomatoes. Customization options are always available; choosing among wholegrain, gluten free, organic, and protein+ pasta.

“This is the lifestyle we were raised on,” says Barilla’s Executive Chef Alfonso Sanna (above), who has cooked professionally for more than thirty years in both Italy and the United States. “The Italian way of eating is one of the healthiest in the world.”

Pizzas are made with Barilla’s blend of wheat and whole grain dough and a variety of toppings, including mozzarella, salame (pepperoni), Prosciutto di Parma, roasted yellow and red bell peppers, and Italian sausage. There are eight different salads, three that are vegetarian and five featuring fish and/or meat as well as three different soups which Chef Alfonso changes to reflect seasonal ingredients. The panini – vegan, vegetarian and whole grain – include five made with focaccia and two piadina (Italian flatbread) including the popular Tricolore (tri-color) with mozzarella, tomatoes and arugula (shown below).

Rounding out Barilla’s menu are delectable dessert offerings with Italian classics like Tiramisu (espresso soaked cookies, mascarpone cream and cocoa powder), caramel and fruit Pannacotta and Torta Del Giorno; perfect accompanied by an authentic Italian espresso.
