Patio dining in southern California doesn’t get much better than this – unless you’re at the beach!
Two of the best items on the menu: silky Edamame Dumplings and Caramelized Onion Tart with Figs and Gorgonzola.

P.S.  Bring your sunscreen – the stylish awnings have gaps and, since June gloom has finally disappeared, the  sun was intense! The photos were taken under the shade of the awning, where alas, I was not.

I just went there for lunch the other day for the 1st time and I loved it! They had this raw kale salad that was yummy! And I am no fan of kale. Can’t wait to go back and try the Edamame Dumplings and Caramelized Onion Tart with Figs and Gorgonzola. Both sound yummy! We also had that problem sitting outside. We were the unlucky ones that got seats under the sun (had partial shade that went away.)

That’s what happened to me 🙂 I’ll have to try the kale salad next time – I’m like you and not a big fan of kale.

Sounds terrific! I’m often looking for good mid-point places to meet people from LA (I’m in San Diego) – this one will definitely go on the list.

So both of those items sound out of this world…I love edamame dumplings, and I keep on trying to recreate them at home. And how can you go wrong with pastry, figs and cheese?

Monet – the filling had such a creamy texture: edamame pureed with daikon radish and white truffle oil.

Thanks for the eatery suggestion and the sunshine tip ;o)

I may just be heading to California next year before heading off to French Polynesia…hence…I don’t want to miss re-visiting the Californian coast (which I did over 20 years ago)! I’m picking up everything new and great about your coast ;o) Thanks.

    Ciao,

I was just at True Kitchen this past Saturday and had both of these items. The edamame dumplings were incredible and now I’m trying to hunt down the recipe to make this at home or to pass on to my favorite local restaurant.
