You can only experience the hilariously entertaining House of Blues World Fabulous Drag Brunch on the first Saturday of every month, so mark your calendars!
The new House of Blues Anaheim introduced their World Fabulous Drag Brunch on June 3, 2017 and, in July, I was able to see this over-the-top extravaganza IRL. A nearly-full house of men and women of all ages screamed, giggled and laughed out loud through 90 minutes of mostly lip-syncing song, eye-poppingly provocative dance, raunchy humor with a side of snark, and the shock and awe that is naturally a part of any drag queen show.
The World Fabulous Drag Brunch stars WILLAM (pictured above) – actress, author, YouTuber and former RuPaul’s Drag Racer, in a hilarious new show featuring wild entertainment, mimosas and an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet of Southern-inspired favorites. Best known from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4, WILLAM and his gaggle of girls will delight and entertain you with music, moves and a dose of comedy.
Never a dull moment with WILLAM, who headlines every show in high style and accomplishes feats of wonder – I dare you to ride a hover board in Louboutins!
The other entertainers change each month – the sultry and exotic Gia Gunn proved to be a crowd favorite the Saturday I attended. She dazzled as the lady in red in her first appearance and wowed guests with her dizzying hair whipping skills. In her second act, Gia went Cleoptra-esque and captivated the room when she grabbed a glass of water and seductively poured it down her front, leaving the elder gentleman in front of her totally gobsmacked. Be sure and bring plenty of $$ bills to tip these amazing performers.
World Fabulous Drag Brunch is perfect for a wild Saturday morning with friends and for special celebrations that call for a dash of glitz!
It’s all about the bucket of Mimosas! Choose orange juice or pomegranate juice.
The buffet is bountiful and features Southern favorites including jambalaya, biscuits and gravy, jalapeño-cheese cornbread, mac and cheese, collard greens, a prime rib carving station, homemade pastries, cobbler and more. I took advantage of the omelet station and enjoyed a fluffy veggie filled omelet. Lighter fare includes a separate station with salad and a variety of fresh cut fruit. Nearby, is the fried chicken and waffle table – don’t pass it up!
