Rosé is Summer’s Sexy Wine

Tropical Pink Sangria, Rose Sangria

No wine is as sexy as rosé right now! Learn all there is to know about this complex varietal and find a region that appeals to you – Provence, Côtes du Rhône, Rioja, Mendoza or Tavel. Thankfully for rosé lovers, the days of the ubiquitous, often-sweet White Zinfandel are long behind us – even White Zinfandel is seeing marked increases in quality.

Rosé is easy to drink and elegant, and few wine styles can come close to matching rosé’s incredible visual appeal; from a slight kiss of pink all the way to a blood-orange deep red. Rosé also makes an excellent sangria – summer’s favorite batch cocktail to beat the heat! Mix up a batch of Tropical Pink Sangria and chill out. Serve your blushing pink sangria chilled with frozen grapes and watermelon balls. Your friends may never leave 🙂

Of course, Rosé is also the perfect picnic wine and to keep it cooler after opening, consider this great product from CorkPops called VinoIce. VinoIce is a wine pourer with gravity lid and a chill rod that will keep your wine chilled just a little longer on those steamy days.

This Domaine Terre de Mistral 2013 Rosalie Rosé from Provence is an excellent dry rose and rated 90 points by Wine Enthusiast. I bought it and a few other bottles of highly rated rosés at Costco.
