Even if you are normally a cook from scratch kinda person, there are days when quality, gourmet sauces and marinades can transform a dish from ordinary to extraordinary with the twist of a cap. Saucy Mama sauces and marinades are just what you need.
While I specialize in simple recipes that fit your busy lifestyle, I know there are days when you and I have other things going on, right? And that is why I said “Yes” to trying an assortment of sauces, marinades, and mustards from Saucy Mama (aka Barhyte Specialty Foods) when they contacted me about entering their recipe contest.
With the holiday season quickly approaching and company coming, we’ll all be looking for tasty dishes to impress our guests, but to save our sanity. Dishes that are as quick to prepare as they are easy to eat are always appreciated – ideal for quick weeknight dinners, casual get-togethers, holiday entertaining, tailgating, and football parties.
Saucy Mama Sauces and Marinades
If your house is like mine, football has high priority making this the perfect time to giveaway these six gourmet products from Barhyte’s signature Saucy Mama line. Named after their own Suzie “Saucy Mama” Barhyte, the co-founder of the company and lead chef behind the creations. The lucky winner will receive a bottle of Hot Wing Sauce, Cracked Pepper Marinade, Sweet Onion Marinade, Lime Chipotle Marinade, Chipotle Mustard, and Jalapeno Stuffed Olives!
Saucy Mama Sliders
I’ve made the Saucy Sliders (shown above) using Saucy Mama sauces and marinades at least five times for my family. Everyone absolutely loves them! I’ve made them for weekend football watching and for dinner on the evenings when I’m out or attending an event.
They’re soooo easy: a pound of ground turkey mixed with two tablespoons Worcestershire sauce and two tablespoons of Saucy Mama Lime Chipotle Marinade makes 8-10 sliders. Top with your favorite grated cheese (I used Manchego) and caramelized onions on slider buns – here I used Kings Hawaiian mini sub rolls (cut in half) because I couldn’t find the little slider buns they make.
More Ideas for Saucy Dishes
When I received my box of goodies, I zeroed in on the Cracked Pepper marinade. I wanted to create a spectacular dish that was at once easy and elegant. Inspired by the classic French preparation for Steak au Poivre, I marinated tuna steaks in the Cracked Pepper marinade, quickly seared them on the grill, served atop a bed of arugula and baked potato – it made for a dazzling anniversary dinner! Read how you can prepare Tuna Steak au Poivre and a dinner party that looks like the work of a pro AND have no pots and pans to wash!

Oh I bet the sweet onion marinade would be great with pork chops. I’ve got so many in my freezer right now I need to find different ways to use it all up!
and i follow you on your rss feed!
I would use the chipotle mustard for glazing lamb or pork on the grill, the lime for fish, the sweet onion for steak and whisk some into sherry vinegar for a dressing for veggies, cracked pepper for eggplant, the hot wing sauce for brushing on ribs…and the jalapeno stuffed olives for a nice wet martini!
And I like you and follow you!
Your sliders look really nice and juicy. It will make a very satisfying lunch.
That sweet onion marinade looks interesting but I also like the hot wing sauce. I think both sauces will be good with chicken.
Hi! I’m a recent subscriber and I love your blog! These sliders look delish and I know my husband would love them!
I would use the Lime Chipotle Marinade to marinate Grouper or Tilapia and serve it grilled with rice and black beans or on fish tacos.
Those sliders look really good. I bet you could use those in lots of dishes, maybe a hot or cold veggie salad. With fish too I bet. I pretty sure I already like you!
-Gina-
Lime Chipotle brushed on grilled corn on the cob. Wing sauce wakes up a creamy onion dip. The Chipotle Mustard would make a great baste mixed with a little brown sugar for holiday ham. Cracked Pepper marinade on grilled mushrooms.
Yummy with the sliders! Lime sauce on tilapia for sure. Sweet onion on burgers. Yum!!! Great giveaway!
I like you on FB!
I have my eye on the sweet onion. I bet it’s good as is on a spinach salad! =)
I already “like” you on Facebook =) Yay!
These types of sauces are a true lifesaver some nights!!! The sweet onion sounds wonderful and would be so good on chicken and pork! Gotta love those sliders!!
Adam would probably kill for the Jalapeno Stuffed Olives…The sliders too 🙂
Great looking list of sauces…
I have just started to eat meat again..and I’m always on the hunt for a good marinade for a simple chicken breast. Thse sound great, and I just love the name. I think the sweet onion would be my top choice! Thank you for sharing. I hope your day is full of laughter and love!
Your sliders look great! I won’t enter the contest because I recently won another Saucy Mama giveaway (definitely going to try your sliders with that sauce, by the way!). I do like you on Facebook though. 🙂
Lovely dishes. Those silders are awesome. The only bad part is that photo of Phillip Rivers. Can’t stand that dude.
Good luck with your giveaway.
Thanks for all your tasty suggestions!
@Lazaro – Sorry! Had no idea that the dude would illicit such a response – to me he was just the football player pictured in the Sports section that day 😉
Great looking dishes, Priscilla! I’m a big fan of Saucy Mama products!
I have never seen Saucy Mama products in my corner. Your food looks wonderful.
The lime chipotle marinade would be fabulous for chicken tacos…but the olives, I’d just use them for a dirty martini! 🙂
I’ve got a question about marketing a sauce/spice. How does one go about getting it bottled and marketed? I make an, as my friends and family say, awesome garlic pepper. They say I sould market it, but I have no clue as to how to go about it. Any help?
Martin
@Martin – I’ve never bottled/marketed a sauce so I can’t really help you with this question. Perhaps contact Barhyte or a local gourmet food brand that you’ve seen and email an inquiry.
I like a quick and easy sauce once in a while, hey why not? More time to watch football, don’t you just hate it when you miss a touchdown because you’re stuck in front of the stove whipping up goodies for the gang???
Oh! These marinades sound so good and versatile. I haven’t seen those snacker sized buns by Kings…I’ll be on the lookout for them. I’m gonna check out the Tuna Steak au Poivre.
There’s so many fantastic flavors in those marinades, but I think many of them would marinade grilled chicken strips well to make tacos with.
I do “Like” you :o) on Facebook (but of course!)
Great giveaway!
Oh my goodness – those sauces look amazing! I adore sliders and with some of these sauces, I bet they are just amazing. Nicely done. Enjoy your weekend.
Thank you for introducing me to these marinades. I have never heard of these before. I think the Cracked Pepper would be great on steaks or the Lime Chipotle on chicken.
I like you on FB. 🙂
I bet my husband would love an excuse to make wings 🙂 football party at our house!
I also Like you on facebook 🙂
The hot wing sauce looks like the pefect thing to toss chicken fingers with. Mmm, game food!
