Ingredients:<\/p>\n
2\/3 cup wheat germ<\/p>\n
1 1\/3 cup unbleached or white whole wheat flour<\/p>\n
\u00bd teaspoon salt<\/p>\n
\u00bd teaspoon baking powder<\/p>\n
2 cups rolled oats<\/p>\n
\u00bd cup butter<\/p>\n
1 cup brown sugar or Sucanat<\/p>\n
\u00bd cup unsweetened, organic applesauce<\/p>\n
2 eggs, lightly beaten<\/p>\n
1 teaspoon vanilla<\/p>\n
1 cup chocolate chips<\/p>\n
\u00bd cup chopped nuts<\/p>\n
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.<\/p>\n
Cream the butter and brown sugar together in a large bowl. Mix in eggs, canola oil, applesauce, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and blend well. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.<\/p>\n
Spray cookie sheet with canola oil. Use a spoon to drop batter onto cookie sheet, making rows of three with 2 inches in between. Bake for 15 minutes. Makes about 60 small cookies.<\/p>\n
