Farmhouse at Rogers Gardens<\/strong>, all festooned in holiday finery, is a magical place that satiates your appetite while stoking your holiday spirit! Owner\/Executive Chef Rich Mead is excited to introduce a new seasonal menu featuring the freshest produce and festive flavors with several new starters, main dishes and desserts as well as the ever-changing, highly curated cheese program and multiple new holiday inspired cocktails hand-crafted by Anthony Laborin, head of Cocktail R&D.<\/p>\n

\"Holiday<\/p>\n

May I recommend a cocktail to put you in a festive mood? Try\u00a0“Mamma Needs Another Drink” (pictured above). Currently, the most popular cocktail on the menu, it is a cool weather rendition of former #1 cocktail “Mamma Needs a Drink”. Obviously, appealing to the ladies who lunch, it is equally quaffable after nightfall seated at your sparkling table amidst flickering candles with twinkling lights overhead.<\/p>\n

At a recent media preview, members of the press were treated to a number of Chef Mead’s seasonal creations served family style to share and photograph for your viewing pleasure.<\/p>\n

Dinner began with a tasting portion of the Farmhouse Market Salad and Shrimp and Root Vegetable Ribbons, both composed of a cornucopia of garden fresh vegetables and seasonal flavors. It was with the main courses that the seasonal flavors really shine.<\/p>\n

Panko Crusted Icelandic Cod<\/p>\n

Fish lovers like me, will find the\u00a0Panko Crusted Icelandic Cod<\/strong> equally enticing |\u00a0roast butternut squash, cipollini onions, kale, caramelized cauliflower, Tehachapi Grain Project red fife and sonora, pureed cauliflower and satsumaimo sweet potato, apple cider molasses glaze, granny smith apples, (<\/em>32). Cooked to perfection, the\u00a0pristine white fish flaked with the slightest touch of your fork.<\/p>\n

\"Grilled<\/p>\n

Meat entrees did not disappoint either and include: \u00a0Grilled Dijon Soy Glazed Pork Tenderloin <\/strong>|\u00a0parmesan potato cakes, braised red cabbage, apple raisin compote, apple jack brandy sauce, (<\/em>28), and\u00a0Grilled Prime Flat Iron Steak Salad<\/strong> |\u00a0roast carrots and beets, pee wee potatoes, gorganzola cheese, little gem lettuce, roast garlic vinaigrette, crispy sun choke chips, horseradish yogurt<\/em>, (26).<\/p>\n

But wait, the best is saved for last… The cheese course!<\/p>\n

The\u00a0mouthwatering cheese board from the Farmhouse’s ever-changing, highly curated cheese program features:<\/p>\n

Valen\u00e7ay\u00a0<\/strong>Distinctive in its truncated pyramidal shape, Valen\u00e7ay is an unpasteurised goats-milk cheese produced in the province of Berry in central France. \u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Brie a la Truffe\u00a0<\/strong>A\u00a0creamy Brie de Meaux style cheese which has been gently layered with fresh truffle pieces from Maison de la Truffe. With a traditional white, bloomy rind, and an incredibly smooth mouth feel, this cheese has an intense truffle crunch.<\/em><\/p>\n

Seasonal Gorgonzola\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>A soft and crumbly goat\u2019s milk cheese made with unskimmed cow\u2019s milk.\u00a0<\/em>One of the world’s oldest blue-veined cheeses, it is mainly produced in the northern Italian regions of Piedmont and Lombardy, Gorgonzola.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fleur Du Maquis<\/strong>\u00a0Made from the milk of the Lacaune ewes, this Corsican cheese is creamy and firm with a moist textured pate which is covered by a natural, flavored rind. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00c9poisses de Bourgogne<\/strong>\u00a0A pungent soft-paste cows-milk cheese made in the village \u00c9poisses and its environs.<\/em><\/p>\n

Accompanied by lightly toasted bread from Rye Goods Co. along with nuts, fresh and dried fruit and chutney, 22<\/p>\n

\"Farmhouse,<\/p>\n

Seasonal deserts added to the menu include, Windrose Farms Apple Crisp,<\/strong>\u00a0Pumpkin Cheesecake\u00a0<\/strong>and Persimmon Pudding<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
