Spaghettini Seal Beach proudly celebrates their 30th anniversary with a glossy cookbook that brings their most popular dishes to your table.

"Let's

Being successful, not just surviving, in the ever-changing restaurant industry is an achievement that should be celebrated with great joy, and the team at Spaghettini has been hard at work on a cookbook, “From Our Home To Yours”, that tells the story of how they began and shares the most loved, tried and true classics served at Spaghettini over the decades.

"Pommery

Take the Pommery Shrimp (above), for instance, which has been on the menu since Spaghettini opened for dinner service in June, 1988. Popular to this day, it is a delightfully light shrimp dish in a Mustard Pommery Sauce that Chef Victor Avila tweaked ever so slightly to make gluten free in response to the increasing demand for gluten free dishes.

"Chef

Chef Avila (above) began as a busboy at Spaghettini, worked his way up the ranks and twenty seven years later is Executive Chef. He is among several employees who have been with Spaghettini over twenty years. At the media luncheon and book signing, we heard Managing Partners Cary Hardwick and Laurie Sisneros speak passionately about the Spaghettini family, followed by Chef Avila declaring that he absolutely loves his job. “Spaghettini is more than just a place to work, it is a family that includes not only the employees, but also our customers.”

"Spaghettini

Distributors such as Melissa’s Produce, who has supplied Spaghettini’s with high quality produce for 15 years, also become part of the Spaghettini family. Melissa’s donates gift baskets for giveaways during Sunday Jazz Brunch and sponsored this delightful alfresco luncheon.

"Spaghettini

Spaghettini didn’t begin as a live music venue, it started with buying a piano for their big, beautiful bar, then hiring a pianist who later added his friend the saxophone player, who then added a drummer… They are now one of the highest regarded small music venues in the country and have had incredible artists grace the Spaghettini stage. Dave Koz, Poncho Sanchez, John Mayall, and Kenny Loggins are just a few of the well-known artists who have played there, along with superb local talent. Check the entertainment calendar for upcoming performances (VIP tickets make great gifts!).

Still, the hottest ticket in town is to their Smooth Jazz Sunday Brunch. Since partnering with popular L.A. radio station 94.7 The Wave in 1999, Spaghettini began drawing people from all over Southern California for the five-hour live radio show and exceptional food. To enjoy brunch in the lounge, tickets must be purchased in advance and usually sell out 3 weeks in advance. Feast on a mouthwatering selection of authentic Italian pastas, fresh California salads, traditional breakfast dishes, extensive seafood station and lavish desserts served buffet style. Follow this with your choice of an entree made fresh to order!

Guests enjoyed sipping Spaghettini signature champagne, bottled for them by Chateau St. Michelle, as shareable plates from Spaghettini’s menu and featured in “From Our Home To Yours” were placed before us to savor. I captured a few to share with you. I plan on serving the Pommery Shrimp (pg. 21) to impress my crew at one of our holiday dinners and will share the recipe in a future post.
