It&#8217;s been pretty hot here in Southern California, but nothing like the temps back east and in the South. So, short and sweet, here&#8217;s a little something to help beat the heat!<\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<div class=\"print-this-button-shell\">\n<button type=\"button\" class=\"print-this-button\" onClick=\"parent.location='https:\/\/shescookin.com\/blackberry-lemonade-martini\/?printthis=1&printsect=1'\">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Print This!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/button>\n<\/div>\n<!-- Print This Section 1 Start -->\n<div class=\"print-this-content\"><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">Blackberry Lemonade Martini<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Yield &#8211; 1 martini<\/p>\n<p>Single cocktail shaker, fill \u00be full with\u00a0 ice<\/p>\n<p>2 ounces citron vodka (my favorite is Ketel One)<\/p>\n<p>2 teaspoons blackberry sauce (below)<\/p>\n<p>Shake vigorously, serve in a chilled martini glass<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">Blackberry Sauce:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">6 oz.\u00a0 blackberries, pref. organic*<\/span><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">\u215b cup sugar<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">1 t. lemon juice<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">zest of half a lemon<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #8b008b;\">*<\/span>The perfect use for blackberries that have gotten a bit mushy. No food &#8211; esp. fruit, goes to waste here, that&#8217;s just how I was brought up!<\/p>\n<p>In a small saucepan, cook over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally &#8211; do not boil. Remove from heat. Allow to cool. Strain in a fine mesh strainer, pressing down on the pulp with a spoon to squeeze out as much juice as possible.
