Working with Collective Bias on their Stater Bros. Vitamin Finder shopping experience was a good fit for me. Since I was a teen drinking goat’s milk and eating brewer’s yeast, I’ve had an interest in nutrition and preparing a balanced home-cooked meal for my family was always a priority, even when I was working outside the home. She’s Cookin’ emphasizes fresh ingredients and lower-calorie, more veggie-centric dishes, so we eat healthier than most, but as we all approach our forties and, *gasp*, fifties or sixties even, taking care of your health becomes of paramount importance, not just a fleeting thought.
Given the results of my latest annual well-check, I realized that I had to step up the exercise (I blame it on blogging) by unleashing myself from this darn computer and be more vigilant about supplementing my body with the vitamins that we all need as we get older. But, with all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, phytochemicals, etc. that we hear and read about – shopping for them can be really mind-boggling. I’m sure you’ve been there – staring at the shelves of supplements, wondering what is the best formulation and potency to buy.
Stater Bros. online Vitamin Finder was quick and easy to use. All I did was answer a few questions about my gender, age, level of stress, general health condition, etc. and it generated a list of three recommendations that I could print out and take to the store. Plus, there was a coupon for $5.00 off for the purchase of 3 supplements. Score! So take the survey, it only takes a few minutes 🙂
The vitamin area at Stater Bros. was easy to locate and, with my recommendations in hand, I had no problem finding what I needed. I ended up purchasing Stater Bros. Top Care Fish Oil to ensure that I’m receiving all the Omega 3 and 6 vitamins that I need and a travel size of the Centrum multi-vitamins to take on my trip to the Netherlands at the end of this month. So excited about that!! And I have to be in good shape and health because it involves lots of bike riding 🙂

We’re all getting old over here! My big feline furboy, Tiger, is 14 and has to have thyroid medication twice a day.
Head of the family, The Don, had a huge health setback last week that landed him in University of Maryland Medical Center while on a business trip to Baltimore. Many thanks to the team of pulmonary and cardiac experts that treated him – Don doesn’t like his health status blasted over the internet, so I won’t go into any detail here. Suffice it to say that I should probably rename my blog “CLEAN FOOD“.
Disclosure: I was compensated for this post by Collective Bias. My thoughts and opinions are my own and I only write about products that I use and think would be beneficial to my readers.

I like Tiger’s summer do, very chic! I hope your husband is feeling better now.

I agree…blogging is to blame for my lack of exercise! 🙂 and this nasty midwest weather. Thank goodness for some Pilates.
I don’t do supplements… I’m sorta supplements phobic… I need to look into it, I know I’m going to need it.
Hope all is well with hubby!

Good post. I too am guilty of lack of excercise! I take Centrum Silver, calcium,Vit D, and Osteo BiFlex. I take these extras since I dispise milk & seldom any other dairy. Love the new summer do!

I love the summer hairdo of Dons! I have been thinking to shave our cats..maybe I should give it a try this summer.

Hope Don is feeling much better, and as for furboy (hates the summer do), just kidding not a direct kitty quote 😉
Excellent info on nutritional supplements , looks like an easy way to finger through what you need. Excellent post!

Thank you and I passed on your well wishes to Don. He is feeling better, but because of his heart issues has to really watch his sodium intake and we all know there is sodium in anything you buy pre-made – even bread!
Oh yes, and Tiger loves his summer do. At first he was mad, but when he grew accustomed to his new found sleekness, he loved it 🙂

Vitamin Finder is a Great Idea, but it’s not a new concept. USANA Health Sciences has offered a similar online tool for years: http://shop.usana.com/shop/haa/InitHAA?s=4307648&market=ENU.US
Very well rated vitamins, too. USANA is given top nods from ConsumerLab.com and the NutriSearch Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements.
